Edit: Reposted because I'd put the wrong image up, and dA was being a whore so I couldn't just move it to scraps until I could fix it. D'oh!
This not-so-little guy was displayed proudly, prominently near the gates to a local "junkyard" that the lovely Golanv and I went shooting at. I am so thankful for the awesome zoom of my camera; it meant I didn't have to get too close to this bigger-than-a-US-quarter monster. I have a love/ loathing relationship with spiders due to childhood trauma with 'em. I find them utterly fascinating and intricately gorgeous, as well as completely terrifying and utterly revolting.
I've gotten better over the years, though. Even five years ago I'd not have been able to stomach being ten feet away to take this shot. I'm really annoyed by the burn-spot, which admittedly isn't as noticible on this one; I was able to scrub most of it away with software. I need to take my camera in for service soon, I guess.

Great shot, would have been even better with some water droplets on the spider web. Otherwise looks very cool 
Been bitten by at least one spider, think that i have been bitten by another one, just not too sure about that one (neither where poisonous). They aren't too bad, just so long as you don't get bitten by the poisonous ones, even then they have all the anti-venoms for the bad ones, so you would be fine
